PREAMBLE

We, the people of the City of Forest Hill, Tarrant County, Texas, in order to establish a Home Rule Municipal Government, provide for the welfare and progress of our city, and obtain more fully for the citizens of [the city] the benefits of local self-government, do hereby adopt this Home Rule Charter.

Editor's note

Printed herein is the Home Rule Charter of the City of Forest Hill, Texas, as adopted by the electorate on May 19, 2007. Amendments to the Charter are indicated by parenthetical history notes following amended provisions. The absence of a history note indicates that the provision remains unchanged from the original Charter. Obvious misspellings have been corrected without notation. For stylistic purposes, a uniform system of headings, catchlines and citations to state statutes has been used. Additions made for clarity are indicated by brackets. The prior Charter was adopted by the electorate on August 14, 1976, and was amended at referendum on May 6, 1995, and May 12, 2007.
